CELEBRATION OF BIRTHDAY of “ANDHRA KESARI”

With great joy VSR & NVR College celebrated the 143rd birthday of Sri Tanguturi Prakasham Panthulu garu, the first CM of the new Andhra State, whose life is a source of inspiration for the and the old. Starting his career as an eminent lawyer, he sacrificed everything for the good of the country. With invincible courage, he stood before the British soldiers, undeterred, with a bare chest challenging them to shoot him, if they can. Sketching Andhra Kesari’s life, the Chief Guest Sri Marouthu Seetharamaiah, the ex President GDCC Bank and the Principal, Sri V. V. Sekhara Prasad inspired the students. The Chief Guest quoted a number of similarities between the life of Tanguturi and Nannapaneni, the Founder Secretary of VSR & NVR College.

The Secretary and Correspondent Sri Nannapaneni Sudhakar congratulated the Government of Andhra Pradesh for declaring Andhra Kesari’s Birth Anniversary as State festival. Trying to instill the spirit of patriotism into the students, he delved at length into the lives of Sri Tanguturi, Mahatma Gandhi , Sri Potti Sreeramulu and many more , who dedicated their lives for the sake of our state/ nation. He expressed his agony at the lack of enthusiasm of the youth to gain knowledge about the freedom fighters, the fruits of whose sacrifices, they have been enjoying. He hoped that such festivals will inspire the youth and make them walk on the right path. Staff and students spoke on this occasion.
