The precious jewels- the players who brought fame and name to our college
Though a number of players of different games hail from our college, it is Volleyball players who became internationally famous. To mention a few
- Sri Movva Syam Sunder Rao, the recipient of ARJUNA and DRONACHARYA awards represented India from 1966 to 1978
- Sri G.Gopichand, the retired Director of SAAP, a national player of Volleyball, a coach of Indian women team and represented India from 1960 to 68.
- Sri D Prabhakar Raju represented India in Asian games and won ‘ Maharan Pratap’ Award.
- Sri S Karimulla played for India in 1986 and 87. He won bronze medals in Asian games and in World Railway Volleyball.
- Sri J Singa Rao represented India in Australia, Japan and Iran. He was the captain in 1995 and won Gold Medal.
- Sri GV Jaichand represented India at Singapore, Bangkok, Quajar.
- Prof VVBN Rao received Gold medal as an international player for his prowess in weightlifting.
- Sarva Sri T Rama Rao , V Sudhakar and C Raghava rao received Gold medals as National champions of weightlifting.
- Sri AV Rami Reddy received silver medal.
- Smt T Vijaya laxmi,P Kranthi, JP Sowjanya, proved their mettle in Shuttle Badminton.
- Sri LVL Sastry was a National Player of Shuttle badminton.
- Sri Y Pragnani Babu was a national player of Handball.
- Miss Niveditha, a student of Chemistry (PG) at present represented India in Handball.
- Miss M Pakeeramma represented AP in Nationals.
Academic Activities:
Conducted a National Seminar on Yoga and Meditation
Conducts certificate course in yoga and Meditation every year.
Organizes guest lectures.
Participates in at least two national seminars/ workshops every year and presents papers.
Conducts medical check-up
Organizes blood donation camps and motivates students to donate blood.
Achievements of students
Students have been the winners of Intercollegiate Hand ball tournament for the last eight years.
Six to ten students are selected by the Selection Committee to represent ANU in Inter University tournaments.
Provision for javelin, short-put, discus, long-jump, high-jump, Triple-Jump, Hammer Throw.
